Privacy Policy

Privacy and security are at the heart of the WakieUp platform.

You can only receive messages from users whom you have explicitly allowed to send you messages. And you will only be able to send messages to users whom have explicitly allowed you to send messages to them. All messages between users are private on the WakieUp platform. A message would only become public when your message is reported to WakieUp engineers as being inappropriate or if the recipient of your message chooses to share it. If WakieUp engineers receive an inappropriate message report we will have to investigate the message you sent and perform some type of appropriate action, which could include reporting your message to authorities and/or removing your message and banning you from the WakieUp platform.

Users at any time can remove a sender from their allowed sender’s list for any reason. No notification is sent the formerly approved sender other than they may notice they no longer can send you messages.

Never, at any time, will your contacts be used for marketing purposes or sold to a 3rd party.

During your WakieUp setup we collect information that is strictly used to verify your registration and then to communicate directly with you. WakieUp communication may include marketing regarding new features or general information regarding your account. All contact information collected during registration is limited to access by WakieUp engineers and you the user.

At any time a user can choose to terminate their account. When a user terminates their WakieUp account all information collected during registration and all messages a user has sent will be completely removed and no record of any kind will be kept for the user.

WakieUp does not perform censorship of messages. If someone in your allowed connections is sending messages that are inappropriate for you then you, the WakieUp user, is responsible for removing a sender from your connections allowed list. WakieUp does have a terms of use agreement that all users are subject to when they register an account on the WakieUp platform. And we do provide a list of messages that are not allowed on the WakieUp platform. This is not a comprehensive list and subject to change at any time.

The bottom line is WakieUp, unlike other social platforms where your information is purposefully public WakieUp is purposefully private. Everything that we do is aimed at the goal of making sure your communications to family and friends stays private. That being said, WakieUp does have the functionality to download messages you send to other users. If someone you have sent a message to chooses to download the message you sent them and then share it with others, WakieUp has absolutely zero control over this use case and all users accept the responsibility that a message they send ultimately could be shared by the recipient.

This privacy policy is subject to change at any time.
